Mr Rockit....Lewis "Left Hand" Simpson has been tapping the keys for around 20 years on and off in between raising 2 children, he caught the bug for Rock 'n' Roll at an early age of 7 or 8 when he would wait till his parents were out and then play his fathers Elvis, Chuck Berry & Jerry Lee Lewis records at full blast till he lost his voice!, he started singing in rockabilly bands for fun after trying drums, bass, guitar & harmonica and played the pubs in various guises including Wild 'n' Rockin' a trio in which he first played Rock 'n' Roll Piano!
  His first long term girlfriend Deborah, an instant love at first sight! accompanied him at Elvis Presley conventions and fun gigs with pals and eventually became Mrs Simpson, After a period of home building and raising a family, he began gigging in clubs with 70's Glam Rock band Mixed Nutz! a five piece band of real Nuts! dressed in a red and orange padded pointy shouldered suit, 6 inch platforms and rock wig! he played Keyboards and Tenor saxophone, however he was the first to admit that 70's music was not what he wanted to play.
  His next foray into Clubland was depping work for Duke Box Jive & At The Hop for occasional Theatre Gigs this is where he cut his cemi professional teeth and crafted a more hard edged rockin style, following a period of ill health he was diagnosed in 2004 with Chronic Myeloid Leukaemia and after a period of chemo his condition is now controlled with medication as a result he began working again in sales to pay the bills, during this period he gained new perspective on life and started to plan a musical early retirement! his condition is controlled today with medication & he would like to thank everyone at Dryburn Hospital in Durham for there care & hard work!
  The result of which an aim to live life as he would like it to be, his now Solo Career as Mr Rockit came about after various failed attempts to get together a swingin' Rock 'n' Roll band of his Own in the North East, a year and a half in the planning and gear gathering now leaves Mr Rockit in a position to keep Rockin' his life Away!, Playing local pubs, clubs and Rock 'n' roll Clubs & Parties, he is still Blowing His own Horn & intends to introduce his Tenor Sax playing into Mr Rockit's act in 2012.
  Mr Rockit’s set includes hits from Jerry Lee Lewis, Ray Charles, Elvis, Fats Domino Little Richard & many more....Hits such as Rockin’ my life away, Great balls of fire, What’ i say, Don’t be cruel, Blueberry hill, Lucille, Teenage heaven, Never can tell (teenage wedding) & many more.
 
  As the great Andy Dufresne (Tim Robbins) famously stated in the Shawshank Redemption you have to get busy livin' or get busy dyin'!............ Mr Rockit will be Livin' it up at a club near you! why not join him and keep Rockin' your life away!!.
